Steph arrives -- the Moonride team is complete -- 2000-Oct-21 Jim

Cape Town Braids
Stephanie getting her first-ever braids -- flashbacks of "10")

Stephanie landed in Cape Town today.

I met in her in a shuttle that was significantly cheaper than the cab I took the previous day.

The weather was glorious, hot, sunny, with the slightest breeze.

We immediately started rattling off what we had brought, forgot, and needed to buy.

After dropping off her stuff, we cruised down Main street in Sea Point where Steph made an appoinment to get her hair braided (see photo). I got the usual long-ride buzz cut, and then we caught a bus to the Waterfront.

The Waterfront is a lot like Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco -- lots of stores, food vendors, and street performers.

We splashed around in the bay a bit -- but neither of us had the courage to go all the way in -- the Atlantic water is glacier fed and it is COLD!

Since neither of us would be able to pick our motorcycles up until Monday, we bought tickets to go to Robben Island on Sunday.
