Greetings from Nairobi (email to moonride list) (01/20/01)
Jim Sowers
Hello Friends!
We may have a few more photos soon. I have sent a few photos from Mozambique and Malawi to my webmaster so they should be up soon.
Also, a very nice guy from England shot some video of me and put it on the web. It is in Malawi, but it is not of anything particularly African, just me blathering on about my trip -- but at least it will
make my dad happy.
You can see it at:

I have tons of stories from Zanzibar, Das es Salaam, the Masai in northern Tanzania, and of course Nairobi--where I arrived in massive rain and crazy driving! Just haven't had time as yet to write it all
up. More web entries to follow.
I'm staying with a very nice family here who are heavily involved in the arts, which means I have really gotten exposed to the cultural scene here. And, I have been recruited to teach salsa -- and the first-ever rueda class in Kenya, who knows, maybe in Africa :-)
The bike and I are holding up. The current plan is to go to Mt. Kenya and then Uganda. I tried to get a visa for Sudan but was REJECTED! I may try again in Ethiopia.
Cheers!
Jim Sowers
P.S. Dotan and Adam, the Israeli riders, are in Victoria Falls and doing well.
Dotan's bike is dying a slow death and Adam plans to tear it apart in Namibia.
We continue to keep each other posted and will no doubt be re-united at some point.
