Waiting in vain for the train - Atbara, Sudan (05/07/01)

Jim Sowers

I am in Atbara, Sudan waiting for the train to Wadi Halfa. This place is even more remote than Gisenyi, Rwanda where I also found an internet cafe.

Yesterday, I rode through 200 miles of desert wind and sand to get here. It was unbelievable. I'm suprised my bike still has paint on it.

Gotta run. If the train ever gets here it will be a hot 24-hour journey across the Nubian desert.

Cheers!

Jim
